About This Course

This course is designed for entrepreneurs in the B-Stars Mobility Accelerator Program, focusing on transforming technical and business problems from intuition-based approaches into structured and repeatable methods. Rooted in the idea that “the best solution already exists somewhere within the system,” TRIZ makes contradictions visible and enables you to systematically generate innovative solutions.

In this session, we will bring the core elements of TRIZ into practice: ideality and resource utilization, contradiction definition and separation principles, the 40 inventive principles, 9-window thinking, function and Su-Field analysis, and a practical ARIZ-lite workflow. These tools will be applied to real-world mobility challenges—such as battery and range limitations, charging/infrastructure access, sensor fusion, fleet and last-mile operations, and safety/regulatory issues—to develop solutions that enhance performance without increasing cost or risk.

Instructor Biography

Assoc. Prof. Dr. İsmail Durgun is a trainer and consultant specializing in TRIZ-based creative problem solving, R&D design, and innovation-driven product development and commercialization processes. As a managing partner at ID ARGE Training & Consulting, Dr. Durgun has authored over 100 scientific publications. His areas of expertise include education, R&D, composite materials, manufacturing, and prototyping.

Born in Bursa, Dr. Durgun graduated first in his class from Uludağ University’s Department of Mechanical Engineering. He completed his Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering at Istanbul Technical University (1991)and earned his Ph.D. at Uludağ University (1999). His academic career began as a research assistant at Uludağ University’s Department of Mechanical Engineering.

In the field, he has conducted numerous TRIZ trainings and innovation workshops with companies such as Sirena Marine and İnfina Software, applying the principles of contradiction resolution, creative resource utilization, and ideality to industrial problems.

Additionally, he produces content, delivers talks, and engages regularly with professional communities on topics related to sustainable R&D design and TRIZ methodology.
